This is definitely a technique, one that I’ve used before too.
It maximizes the amount of hits for the guy who is specifically looking (detailed, well thought out post) and the casually curious (sparse on details, potential buyer thinks seller doesn’t know what he/she has, etc)
So I’d put money on it being the same person.
